I Dream’? Someone posted
a video clip on YouTube of Leann Rimes singing the very same song at the World Sports Award 2001. Even the lyrics are the same. Now, I thought Mediacorp claimed that
'I Dream' was an original composition for the sole purpose of our very 1
st Singapore Idol. Now, this is very telling about the ethics of local media huh? Boo for that!
Having said that, i however believe that they've since learnt from their lesson and composed 'You Give Me Wings' for Singapore Idol Season 2. You know why I’m so sure? Because it sucks that’s why. The song mediocre, tune typical and lyrics ‘uninspiring’.
Anyway, Taufik’s rendition of the song is nothing compared to Leann Rimes’. Check it out for yourself.
Conversly, here’s a Singaporean with some creativity and a tinge of evil humor. If I’m not mistaken, some young punk nicknamed Sandy Beach digitally edited a photo of a Japanese personality, Chinatsu Wakatsuki and posted the edited photo on his blog. It’s really funny don’t you think?
