difference/deviance?

Is deviance a state of mind, a state of the act or simply a function of definitions? (Qn1, Sem II : 07/08 - Sociology of Deviance)


sociological theories aside, i am once again reminded that,

'there is no difference, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice for atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice..(Romans3:22-25)'

yet, as wretched as we are, we desperately drop deviant labels upon others to negotiate individual righteousness. sad.
