Jesus, my OGL.

Having to step into the land of the unknown, mingle with strangers and get comfortable with them can be quite a daunting task for me. Yet, my assimilation into NUS is nothing less than divine.

God is fateful, He truly is. Little surprises never fail to remind me that He is constantly watching over me, walking this treacherous path with me.

I cannot imagine having go through all of these alone; balloting for tutorials, bidding for lectures, which activity group to join, what modules to take, who to hang out with, just to list a few.

He has been setting me up for divine appointments with hoards of awesome people to orientate me around NUS.

Too many to List...

I am Loved,
Marcus

seek refuge. find rest.

Start a café, one with a stage.

Corrinne will grace the opening, and sing an edifying tune.

Hot Coffee, Cosy Couches, Rustic Deco., Warm Lights, Nice Music.

A platform where good music is played. I will jam when I feel like it with buddies, my girl and my furry brown friend...

Bad day? Order a prayer and help will be on its way.

Come.

Seek Refuge. Find Rest.

Personal Reflection on Southeast Asian Region

Speaking of Southeast Asia (SEA), three words immediately surface in my mind; Rustic, Fusion and Family.

Having lived in this region for 22 years, I have only visited Malaysia and Thailand. Yet, I often have the opportunity to come into contact with friends and cultures from SEA. This is effectively so because not only are we geographical neighbours, there really is no clear boundary when employment, education and friendship is concerned.

For example, I’ve picked up simple Vietnamese from new acquainted Vietnamese friends. Thai friends also commented that Lerk Thai’s cuisine at ‘The Deck’ is a far cry compared to authentic ones in Thailand. Filipino and Indonesian domestic helpers have also shared with us stories of farming and lifestyle back in their home countries. Singapore being the melting pot, SEA is very much one family, a fusion of cultures.

Rustic aptly describes places of SEA still unfazed by modernity. Places like ‘Angkor Wat’ in Cambodia, and ‘Kampong Ayer’, water village in Brunei are places I long to visit. Have I mentioned that I’ll definitely want to savour the ‘King of Fruits’, durian when I drop by Malaysia?

Absurd

Let’s get real here.

There are a lot of thoughts running through my mind now. Just had movie and coffee with a good friend I consider my confidant and it rocks to have someone whom you can share without much inhibition.

Life is Absurd!
